Every Service Your Pallet Program Needs
Most pallet companies do one thing. We do everything. San Diego Pallet manages the entire pallet lifecycle so you can focus on your core business. From sourcing and delivery to repair, recycling, and buyback, every service is designed to reduce your cost-per-trip and keep pallets in circulation longer.
Pallet Recycling Programs
Our recycling service is not a dumpster behind your warehouse. It is a managed collection program with scheduled pickups, condition grading, and monthly reporting. We sort every pallet we collect: reusable units go back into circulation, damaged boards become repair stock, and wood that cannot be reused is chipped for biomass energy or landscaping mulch. Nails and fasteners are separated for steel recycling. The result is a genuine zero-landfill pallet program with documentation you can use for ESG and sustainability reporting.
We track every pallet by weight and condition category, giving you precise diversion data including CO2 equivalent calculations. Whether you need to satisfy internal green initiatives or external investor reporting, our recycling reports are formatted for GRI, CDP, and custom frameworks.
Transportation & Logistics
We operate our own fleet of flatbed trucks and box trucks across San Diego County and Southern California. Deliveries are not outsourced to third-party carriers who treat your pallets as afterthought freight. Our drivers understand pallet handling, stacking configurations, and dock-level delivery requirements. Same-day and next-day service is available within our primary service area.
For larger volumes or longer distances, we offer LTL freight coordination with carriers we have vetted and work with regularly. We handle the scheduling, BOL documentation, and delivery confirmation so you receive your pallets on time and in the condition promised.
Professional Pallet Repair
A cracked deck board does not make a pallet worthless. It makes it a candidate for a $1.50 repair instead of a $12-18 replacement. Our repair crews handle board replacement, block repair, stringer reinforcement, re-nailing, and full reconditioning. We use pneumatic coil nailers and hardwood replacement boards to bring damaged pallets back to GMA-grade specifications.
For high-volume clients, we send mobile repair crews to your facility. This eliminates transportation costs and means your repaired pallets are ready the same day. On-site repairs typically handle 200-400 pallets per crew per day depending on damage severity.
Pallet Buyback
If your receiving dock is stacking up with pallets you do not need, our buyback program turns that surplus into revenue. We purchase Grade A and Grade B pallets at fair market rates, with pricing based on current demand, condition, and size. Standard 48x40 GMA pallets are always in demand, but we also buy specialty sizes including 42x42, 48x48, and custom dimensions.
Payment terms are straightforward: you receive a quote within 24 hours of contacting us, and payment processes within 3 business days of pickup. For large volumes, we can arrange standing pickup schedules so your surplus pallets are collected automatically.
From First Call to Ongoing Partnership
We have refined our onboarding process to get you set up quickly and delivering value from day one. Here is how a typical engagement unfolds, whether you need one service or all of them.
Needs Assessment
We start with a conversation or on-site visit to understand your operation. How many pallets do you use per month? What sizes and grades? What are your pain points? We ask the right questions so we can design the right solution from the start.
Custom Proposal
Based on your volume, location, and service needs, we build a proposal with transparent pricing. No hidden fees, no ambiguous per-unit ranges. You see exactly what you will pay for deliveries, repairs, pickups, and recycling before committing.
Service Launch
Once approved, we schedule your first delivery or pickup within 48 hours for local clients. We coordinate with your warehouse team on receiving windows, dock assignments, and any site-specific requirements like gate codes or appointment systems.
Ongoing Management
After launch, your dedicated account contact monitors service quality, adjusts schedules as your volume changes, and provides monthly reporting. We treat your pallet program as an ongoing partnership, not a series of one-off transactions.

Transparent Pricing, No Surprises
The pallet industry has a reputation for opaque pricing. We take a different approach. Every quote we send breaks down exactly what you are paying for, and we explain the market factors that influence pricing so you can make informed decisions.
What Drives Pallet Pricing
Lumber Market Conditions
New pallet prices track Southern Yellow Pine and hardwood lumber markets. When lumber prices rise, new pallet costs follow within 2-4 weeks. Recycled and repaired pallets offer a buffer against these swings.
Grade and Condition
A Grade A pallet with no repairs commands a premium. Grade B pallets with cosmetic wear but full structural integrity cost 30-50% less. Grade C pallets are suitable for one-way shipping at the lowest price point.
Size and Specification
Standard 48x40 GMA pallets have the highest supply and lowest per-unit cost. Specialty sizes like 42x42, 48x48, or custom dimensions cost more due to limited availability and smaller production runs.
Volume Commitments
We offer volume-based pricing tiers. Consistent monthly orders of 200+ pallets qualify for preferred pricing. Annual contracts with volume commitments unlock our best rates.
Our Pricing Promise
- Every quote includes a line-by-line breakdown of unit costs, delivery fees, and any applicable surcharges.
- No price changes without 30-day written notice on contracted accounts.
- Volume discounts are applied automatically as your order sizes increase.
- Recycling and buyback credits are clearly stated and applied against your invoices.
- If you find a lower price for equivalent quality and service, tell us. We will match it or explain the difference.
Industries We Serve Across Southern California
Pallets are the invisible backbone of nearly every supply chain. We work with businesses across dozens of industries, each with unique requirements for pallet size, grade, treatment, and handling.
Food & Beverage
Breweries, food distributors, cold storage warehouses, and produce companies need pallets that meet FDA sanitation guidelines. We supply Grade A and heat-treated pallets suitable for food-contact environments, and our recycling programs keep used pallets out of food-production areas.
Manufacturing
Automotive parts plants, electronics assembly, aerospace component suppliers, and general manufacturers rely on consistent pallet specs for automated handling systems. We supply pallets built to exact dimensional tolerances for conveyor and AS/RS compatibility.
Third-Party Logistics (3PL)
3PL warehouses handle goods for multiple clients, often requiring different pallet sizes and grades under one roof. We provide mixed-grade deliveries, flexible scheduling, and consolidated invoicing that simplifies multi-client pallet management.
Retail & E-Commerce
Big-box retailers require GMA-spec 48x40 pallets that meet their strict receiving standards. E-commerce fulfillment centers often benefit from smaller, lighter pallets for parcel shipments. We supply both and help you optimize size-to-load ratios.
Agriculture & Nurseries
San Diego County is home to hundreds of farms, nurseries, and agricultural operations. We supply lightweight pallets for plant transport, heat-treated pallets for produce export, and recycling programs for the high volume of one-way pallets that flow through agricultural supply chains.
Construction & Building Materials
Lumber yards, tile distributors, and building material suppliers need heavy-duty pallets rated for 4,000+ pound loads. We build and source block-style and stringer pallets designed for the weight and dimensions of construction materials, with reinforced deck boards and thicker stringers.
